Date: 4 SeptemberTime: 10am–12.30pm Join Sophia Elouise of Function & Form for a hands-on, 2.5-hour workshop exploring the traditional craft of brush making. You’ll learn how to bind natural plant fibres into beautiful, durable brooms using a technique found in cultures around the world. Working with a selection of fibres, you’ll make two brushes to take home—perfect for sweeping hard floors, rugs, gardens and hearths, or for using as a crumb brush or duster. The fibres are naturally water-resistant, so your brushes can be washed and hung up to dry. With care, they are made to last a lifetime. You’ll also leave with a versatile new skill that you can continue exploring with different fibres and bindings. Brush binding can be hard on the hands when you first begin. If you have difficulty with finger dexterity, please let Sophia know; the workshop will be paced comfortably, with breaks whenever needed. All materials are included, and no previous experience is necessary.
