Created by using a hand-held tool that punches the yarn thru a canvas backing. Both cut pile and loop piles can be achieved. A second fabric, is then attached to the back of the ca rpet to hold the yarn in place. Hand tufted carpets are typically heavier weight and have a dense pile that is a wonderful soft layer underfoot.
