The FTX-1 allows the conversion of UHF electrical signals into optical signals, offering the advantages of optical fiber transmission (low loss, wide bandwidth) as well as the inherent benefits of the medium itself (lightweight, galvanic isolation, etc.). The FTX-1 has two operating modes: High sensitivity, which enables the reception of UHF signals from wireless systems (analog or digital) in the 470-690MHz range. The signal is filtered and amplified before being sent to the RF/optical converter. Low sensitivity, without filtering or amplification, to transmit signals from 0.1 to 3GHz. Three level settings 0/-10/-30dB allow the FTX-1 to adapt to the output level of the connected device. For example, with the -30dB setting, a 50mW transmitter can be directly connected to the FTX-1.
