DescriptionThe BTC Standing Base is a compact desktop and wall-mount base for M5 Core controllers that need local environmental sensing. It integrates an SHT30 temperature and humidity sensor, giving the BTC Standing Base precise temperature and humidity data over I2C while the Core remains upright and easy to view. The female header plug-in design connects through the Base Bottom pin header, so the BTC Standing Base can support M5 Core environmental monitoring without an external ENV Unit. For dashboards, classroom experiments, and small weather stations, this base turns an M5 Core into a neat M5 Core environmental monitoring display. The SHT30 sensor measures ambient conditions, and the base keeps the controller stable on a desk or mounted on a wall.Charging note: when the USB cable is connected to the BTC base, it powers the Core circuit board only; the internal lithium battery is charged only when the USB cable is connected to the Core. BASIC and GRAY Cores can be installed on the base, but they cannot be charged via BTC.I2C address notice: after installing a Core on BTC, do not connect an ENV Unit or another sensor with the same I2C address as the built-in SHT30 temperature and humidity sensor. This avoids I2C address conflicts and helps the M5 Core environmental monitoring setup work normally.Features BTC Standing Base for upright desktop placement or wall-mounted M5 Core environmental monitoring. Built-in SHT30 temperature and humidity sensor for accurate ambient measurement. I2C communication interface with SHT30 address 0x44. Female header plug-in design connects through the Base Bottom pin header. High measurement accuracy for indoor monitoring, teaching, and weather-station projects. USB Type-C cable, screws, and hex key included for practical installation. The base keeps an M5 Core visible while the SHT30 temperature and humidity sensor collects environmental data. Product List 1 x Base BTC 1 x USB Type-C Cable (1m) 2 x M3 x 16 Screws 1 x Hex Key L-Shape 2.5mm (for M3 screw) Other ContentPin mapping from the documentation lists SHT30 SCL on G22 and SDA on G21, with 3V3 and GND supplied through the M5Stack Core connection. On the M5-Bus side, I2C_SDA is pin 17 and I2C_SCL is pin 18, with 5V and BAT also present on the bus. This helps when the BTC Standing Base is used in M5 Core environmental monitoring projects that need predictable I2C routing. The current version uses the SHT30 sensor; the earlier release used DHT12 before the documented 2020 version change. When comparing older examples or code, choose resources for the SHT30 version of this base.Resources Base BTC documentation SHT30 datasheet Arduino SHT30 example FAQWhat is the BTC Standing Base used for?The BTC Standing Base is used to hold an M5 Core upright or wall mounted while adding SHT30-based temperature and humidity sensing for environmental monitoring. Can the BTC Standing Base charge BASIC or GRAY Core devices? No. BASIC and GRAY Cores can be installed, but the base does not charge them through BTC. USB power on the base powers the Core circuit board only. Can I connect an ENV Unit at the same time? No. The built-in SHT30 temperature and humidity sensor uses an I2C address that conflicts with ENV-style sensors using the same address, so those sensors should not be connected at the same time.Which interface does the sensor use?The SHT30 sensor uses I2C communication, with SCL on G22 and SDA on G21 in the documented pin mapping. Is this suitable for a small weather station?Yes. The BTC Standing Base is suitable for a desktop small weather station, indoor monitoring display, or teaching platform using M5 Core environmental monitoring data.
