How the Auto Roll Filter Works The Bubble Magus Auto Roll Filter G2 provides automatic mechanical filtration by passing aquarium water through a fine fleece filter roll. As water flows through the fleece, suspended waste and particulate matter are trapped within the filter material. This helps remove debris from the water before it has the opportunity to break down and contribute to nutrient accumulation. As the fleece gradually becomes loaded with waste, water flow through the filter material is reduced and the water level changes. The built-in water-level monitoring system detects this change and activates the motor, automatically advancing the roll to expose a fresh section of clean fleece. Long-Lasting Filter Fleece Each Auto Roll Filter G2 size uses a non-woven filter fleece designed to capture particulate waste from aquarium water. The supplied roll length varies depending on the selected model: Small: 25m roll Medium: 25m roll Large: 50m roll The actual lifespan of a roll will vary depending on aquarium size, bioload, feeding habits, water flow and the amount of particulate waste produced by the system. Replacement fleece rolls are available when the supplied roll has been used. Which Size Should I Choose? Small – ARF-S G2 The Small model is designed for compact aquarium systems up to approximately 300 litres. Its compact footprint makes it a suitable option where sump space is limited. Medium – ARF-M G2 The Medium model is designed for aquarium systems up to approximately 500 litres and uses a wider 150mm filter roll for increased mechanical filtration capacity. Large – ARF-L G2 The Large model is designed for larger aquarium systems up to approximately 1000 litres. It features the widest 200mm filter roll and a longer 50m fleece roll, making it the best choice for larger systems and aquariums with higher mechanical filtration demands.
