The Bucas Smartex Medium Rug is a versatile and durable turnout rug designed to keep your horse comfortable and protected across a wide range of weather conditions. Known for its intelligent design and premium materials, the Smartex Medium is ideal for daily turnout during cooler weather and is part of one of the most reliable rug ranges on the market. With a tough 1680D ballistic nylon outer, this rug offers outstanding strength and resistance to wear and tear. It is fully waterproof (over 5000 mm hydrostatic head) and highly breathable (over 3000 g/24h/m²), providing excellent protection in wet conditions while allowing heat and moisture to escape. This rug includes 150g of insulation, making it ideal for mid-season use or horses that need moderate warmth. The innovative Stay-dry fleece lining allows the rug to be placed directly on a wet horse, acting like a cooler by wicking away moisture and drying the coat while staying dry against the skin. This reduces the need for multiple rug changes and ensures all-day comfort. The lining also has anti-bacterial properties to promote skin health and hygiene. The silk-feel shoulder lining helps prevent rubbing, preserving coat condition. For a secure and adjustable fit, the Smartex Medium features the Click’n Go front closure with magnetic Snap-lock, shoulder darts, cross surcingles, deluxe leg straps, a tail flap, and a deluxe tail cord. Neck attachment points are included, and the rug is compatible with Bucas liners, quilts and coolers, giving you flexibility to layer as needed.
