Origin and Habitat Native Region: Lake Malawi, with recorded localities including Otter Point. Natural Habitat: Sandy habitats, often near Vallisneria beds. Occasionally occurs in intermediate habitat with scattered rocks. Mostly observed at depths between 15 and 98 ft, but may occur shallower. Behavior and Temperament Temperament: Mildly aggressive, with predatory instincts toward smaller fish. Social Behavior: Best kept with large Lake Malawi haps and predator haps in a spacious aquarium.
