Artemis is a compact Bucephalandra with wavy-edged leaves running dark green with bronze undertones and violet highlights under stronger light. It stays small and neat, which makes it a midground detail plant rather than something to fill space with. Under RGB or full-spectrum light the bronze leaf throws violet highlights; under warm white it reads plain dark green. Nothing is wrong with the plant — check the light before assuming otherwise. Never bury the rhizome. Tie or glue it to wood or rock and leave it exposed; buried rhizomes rot. Farm-raised, not wild-collected. All the Bucephalandra we carry is farm-grown, and much of it is raised from tissue culture rather than collected from Borneo. At under two inches of growth a year, coverage has to be bought rather than waited for. If you want a filled-in piece of wood, start with more plants. Some leaf melt after shipping is normal. This is normal and temporary — new submersed leaves regrow from the rhizome once the plant stabilizes. Never release aquarium plants into natural waterways.
