Ashley Brazil is a ceramic artist based in Minneapolis. Having spent her formative yearsgrowing up in a valley near the mountains, forests, and the ocean of the PacificNorthwest, s he feels deeply rooted in finding art in the natural world around her. With abackground in painting, design, and art history, her practice is a culmination of theseinterests. Through clay sculpture, she explores the depth of feeling that certain colorsbring from their interaction with one another and the tactility of texture. She is mostinspired by ancient forms as a canvas in which to explore ideas of daily ritual, beauty,mindfulness, and transformation. Show more
