Unlike a conventional sluice that depends on the creek bank to establish its height and angle, the Frontier creates its own stable working platform. Independently adjustable tripod legs accommodate uneven ground, while the adjustable head and built-in level help you establish a consistent sluice angle from one sample site to the next. The sluice can discharge directly into a five-gallon bucket, allowing water to be captured and reused. This makes it especially useful in dry areas, remote drainages, seasonal creeks, or anywhere water is too scarce for a conventional sluice. Carbon-Fiber-Reinforced Construction The Buddy Frontier body is manufactured from PA12 carbon-fiber-reinforced nylon—an engineering-grade material selected for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio, stiffness, dimensional stability, and resistance to heat. PA12-CF has a published heat-deflection temperature of approximately 131°C (268°F), making it far better suited for hot vehicles, direct summer sunlight, and demanding outdoor environments than ordinary low-temperature 3D-printing plastics.
