Thursday 20 February 2025 | 4 - 6pmSAGE Garden 110 Queen Street, MoruyaThis is the first event where youths, parents, friends, family and teachers were invited to attend and learn more about the program and what it entails. We have a beautiful singer song writer performing, BBQ dinner will be served using locally sourced vegetables and sausages (BBQ Martins Ridge sausages, eggplant, zucchini, capsicum) with a cabbage salad, tomato salsa and a green herb sauce. After school snack was beetroot hummus and chickpea hummus with corn chips. The evening will start with a tour of the SAGE Garden, sitting in circle to give everyone an opportunity to meet and get to know each other, participants will complete a survey to find out what they are interested in learning/doing in the program. Some parents attended, and other came later to pick up their child. All parents stayed and enjoyed some dinner with the group. We had 4 youths, 5 parents. Headspace had 3 people attend, ESC Youth Development team, ESC Sustainable Supervisor, and SAGE Education Officer. There were some people who did RSVP and did not attend one youth and parent and two teachers. Overall we were pleased with the engagement of the youths that did attend and the support their parents expressed for them to be there.
