Remarks: The Buenos Aires tetra is a larger boisterous tetra that are known to sometimes eat aquarium plants. To help avoid this, it is advised to add veggies into their diet but t his isn't always an effective solution. The Buenos Aires tetra is known to be a very hardy fish and can be kept with larger South and Central American cichlids as dithers. This is due to their body shape and size compared to other tetras. Males of the species have brighter, redder fins and are generally more colorful overall If kept in small numbers, it is likely for this fish to become stressed and nip the fins of tankmates.
