This painting was a study done while working on a commission on the official national poster commemorating the 50th anniversary of the wilderness act. Click on this link to view th e final poster. Other wilderness act studies include Stewards of the Wilderness, Spirit of the Wilderness, A Peaceful Kingdom of Wilderness color study, and A Peaceful Kingdom of Wilderness graphite study. This "Buffalo Flag" study was the inspiration for a 2016 acrylic painting which was reproduced as a limited edition archival digital print to celebrate the official designation of the Bison as America's National Animal.
