Juice™ state-of-the-art E. coli based cell-free protein expression system is optimized for performance. Get consistent high yields at rapid speed. The mix can produce ~1.8 mg of sfGFP and ~1.4 mg of deGFP protein per milliliter of reaction in under 16 hours from optimized plasmid templates. It has been designed for T7-based protein expression and can generate proteins from standard inducible expression plasmids (e.g. pET15 and pET28) in the presence of 0.5-1mM IPTG. The linear kit enables production of over ~1.4 mg of sfGFP and 1mg/mL of deGFP from optimized linear templates. An important advantage of the Juice system is that it does not contain polyethylene glycol (PEG). PEG, which is often present in other commercially available cell-free systems, is a hydrophobic agent that can result in ion suppression at the ion source of a mass spectrometer and appears as repeating elements of 44 Da in the mass spectrum (Scheerlinck et al, 2015).
