We've updated our Bungee Brake Kit to include the Stainless Steel brake block instead of the old Nylon block. We will continue to stock replacement Nylon blocks for our customers who have previously purchased a Bungee Brake Kit. Our preferred zip line braking method is the Bungee Brake, bringing riders to a smooth and gentle stop. This type of brake is considered a passive braking system and not dependent upon the rider at all. The stainless steel brake block included with this kit eliminates the need to eventually replace the brake block due to wear, making it a perfect fit for commercial applications, or for those who don't want to worry about eventually replacing the old plastic version of this product. The stainless steel block on the zip line cable is made to slide freely. Attached to the block is a bungee cord. When the rider zips down the cable, near the 3/4 mark, the rider's trolley bumps into the block, as the rider continues travel, the bungee cord stretches and slows the rider down until they stop. The bungee cord retracts and the riders slide backwards on the cable until they reach the lowest point of the zip line. Note: The maximum allowable slope is 6% (6 ft. drop per 100 ft. of distance) for zip lines that utilize a Bungee Brake. 20 FT BUNGEE BRAKE KIT For zip lines up to 200 FT long. 30 FT BUNGEE BRAKE KIT For zip lines between 200-500 FT long.
