These are brightly painted floats that attach to lobste r traps in order for lobstermen to quickly locate and identify their traps, which are set on the ocean floor. With so many lobstermen, Buoys are painted tons of colors which have also made them a great decoration on sides of buildings and in homes. Being fascinated with these coastal objects, I was inspired to design jewelry that incorporated them. Anyone who has spent time along the New England coast can surely appreciate the history associated with these fun colorful objects.
