The first building on this site was a lung sanatorium built in the 1950’s. It was very modern at the time and had capacity for 144 beds and a large terrace on the top floor. After lung diseases were treatable, the sanatorium was demolished. A new hospital opened in the 1970s and then during the 1990s, the hospital was reconverted into a care home. I found this piano in the middle of a corridor completely singed and burnt as the building was set on fire several times and damaged. The building was finally demolished in 2015.
