Mixed media on wood panel.24x48x1"I was inspired by thinking about the colour of spring. The bright yellow green and the blue skies that you can see through the trees that are just starting to leaf out. I was in my Studio in the Woods but it was in the winter. I was trying to imagine spring. Although this piece turned out to have more blues than greens, and perhaps be more watery than like the growing spring buds, I still think it has a feeling of energy that we receive in the springtime. It has many layers. I used many techniques of applying paint and then moving it around, pulling it off and covering it over in an attempt to stay loose and not too attached to any one stage. Show more
