BusinessMap 2.0 visually maps numerical data stored in popular database, spreadsheet, and contact manager formats (including Paradox, Excel, Access, and Act!). We were even able to build a map from a database file created with Claris FileMaker Pro 2.1.It's often easier to interpret demographic trends, customer purchasing habits, or sales successes when the data is placed on a map rather than in rows and columns on a spreadsheet. BusinessMap includes more than 50 customizable maps of the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the world. With BusinessMap, you build a map consisting of predefined and custom layers. For example, on top of a U.S. state map template, you might add a ready-made spatial layer consisting of highways, then a user-imported database layer with records containing a zip code field. After you add a title and labels for various points, your map is ready to print.We were able to search for specific records in the database of the active layer by using the program's various Find commands. For example, selecting Find by Field searches for records by such categories as zip code, last name, state name, and so forth, enabling you to locate specific records. Data records that match the search criteria appear in a database window.
