These button studs are a great simple way to close a strap or flap. For setting all you need to do is punch a hole slightly larger than the shaft, set on the button stud and screw it in. On the top side of the leather you can punch a hole slightly larger than the shaft and then add a relief cut to allow the leather to open around the cap but then close back up after it passes through.
