A small antique French hunting button cast in zinc and iron, with a raised animal scene in relief — wild boar, stag, and hunting dog motifs visible across the collection. These wer e made for hunting jackets and country coats in 19th century France, where the quality of a man's buttons was taken seriously. The dark patinated surface and fine casting detail have held up remarkably well. Each button is unique; motifs and sizes vary between 0.5" and 1" diameter. Sold individually.
