BVM is a collage print reworking the iconography of the Madonna through layering, fragmentation and modern graphic form. The image combines a classical female portrait with printed text, decorative pattern and sharp geometric shapes, creating a contemporary figure that feels both familiar and disrupted. The circular halo references traditional religious painting, while the sliced imagery and inserted materials break the figure apart and reassemble it. This tension between reverence and reconstruction gives the work its charge. The Madonna is present, but filtered through time, reproduction and personal reinterpretation. Rather than presenting a devotional image, BVM treats the Blessed Virgin Mary as a cultural symbol, shaped by history, repetition and belief.
