This complete system combines Olympus's proven BX series platform with specialized polarization optics and accessories, delivering exceptional performance for petrographic analysis, mineral identification, birefringence measurements, and interference figure observation. At the core of the system is the U-SRP circular rotating stage, featuring precision ball-bearing construction for smooth, accurate 360Β° rotation with degree markings for extinction angle measurements. The stage accepts the U-FMP attachable mechanical stage, which provides knurled X-Y controls for precise specimen positioning while maintaining full rotational capability β essential for systematic petrographic examination and crystal orientation studies. The optical train is optimized for polarization work, featuring a U-POC strain-free condenser with a 360Β° rotatable polarizer, swing-out top lens, and adjustable click-stop at the zero position. This condenser design ensures accurate crossed-polarizer alignment and facilitates both low- and high-magnification observation. The U-AN360P analyzer provides 360Β° rotation with a locking function, enabling precise control over polarization orientation for extinction measurements and optical property determination. Four strain-free polarization objectives (4Γ, 10Γ, 20Γ, and 40Γ) are mounted on the U-P4RE centerable quadruple nosepiece. Each objective position features individual centering adjustments, allowing precise alignment of the optical axis with the stage rotation center β critical for accurate conoscopic observation and interference figure analysis. The strain-free optical design eliminates internal stress birefringence that could interfere with specimen analysis. The system includes the U-CPA conoscopic observation attachment with Bertrand field stop, enabling the transition from orthoscopic (standard) to conoscopic (interference figure) observation modes. This capability is essential for determining optical character, optic sign, and other diagnostic optical properties of minerals and crystals. The U-TAD compensator adapter accepts the included U-TP530 first-order red (full-wave) gypsum plate, facilitating retardation measurements and birefringence characterization. The U-TR30-2 trinocular head offers three light distribution positions (100:0, 80:20, 0:100), allowing simultaneous visual observation and photography or digital imaging. The system includes WHN 10Γ widefield eyepieces with a crosshair reticle and scale installed in the right eyepiece for measurement and alignment reference. This microscope is in excellent, as-new working condition, ready for immediate deployment in research, academic, or industrial laboratory settings. π Typical Applications Petrographic analysis and geological thin section examination Mineralogy and mineral identification Crystallography and crystal optics research Materials science and polymer characterization Birefringence and optical anisotropy studies Interference figure observation and optic sign determination Pharmaceutical and chemical crystal analysis Quality control in optical materials manufacturing π Key Specifications Specification Details Model Olympus BX51-P Application Polarized Light Microscopy Observation Head U-TR30-2 Trinocular (100:0 / 80:20 / 0:100) Eyepieces WHN 10Γ Widefield with crosshair reticle & scale Nosepiece U-P4RE Quadruple Centerable Objectives 4Γ, 10Γ, 20Γ, 40Γ Strain-Free Polarization Stage U-SRP 360Β° Rotating Circular Stage with U-FMP Mechanical Stage Condenser U-POC Strain-Free with 360Β° Rotatable Polarizer Analyzer U-AN360P 360Β° Rotatable with Locking Function Conoscopic Attachment U-CPA with Bertrand Field Stop Compensators U-TAD Adapter + U-TP530 First-Order Red Gypsum Plate Condition Excellent, As-New Working Order University purchase orders accepted.
