Description Two decades after its release on Dreamcast and in the arcades, SEGA's Cosmic Smash has been reimagined for VR with C-Smash VRS, now available on PlayStation VR2, and launching on PS5 on 26th September. Lost In Cult Records and RapidEyeMovers have teamed up to bring past and future together with this 2xLP release of the complete stratospheric OST from the game. Head for the stars with DJ Ken Ishii, known in the world of gaming for his work on Rez Infinite and Lumines, and synth master Danalogue, from bands The Comet is Coming and Soccer 96, along with a special guest appearance from multi-genre legends UNKLE. With crisp, striking artwork from Arkotype — the UI Designer behind the game — and a sleek semi-opaque Vellum slipcover, this release thematically encapsulates the minimalist world of C-Smash VRS. Danalogue shared with us some of his motives for crafting the C-Smash VRS soundscape: “I wanted a sense of weightlessness, to feel like you’re floating up there on a space station, and a high-frequency shimmer, almost as an echo to the stars glinting through the windows, and that feeling of hope that you can overcome this difficult challenge. It's a dream come true to release a cosmic videogame soundtrack on vinyl! Having grown up listening to iconic soundtracks like Streets of Rage which I own on vinyl, it’s a great honour to join that pantheon of composers and that my music can be enjoyed both as part of the game, and also as a stand-alone audio experience."
