The thrust washers locate at the thrust main bearing and control the crankshaft's axial endfloat, absorbing t he fore-and-aft loads transmitted through the crankshaft and keeping it correctly positioned in the block. Supplied in the standard size, for a crankshaft with a thrust face at standard dimensions; oversize washers are used where the thrust face has been reground.
