This knife is from the Seki Magoroku brand.The dark section of the blade has a black oxide finish. This finish forms a stable oxide layer on the iron surface, helping to reduce the formation of red rust while giving the blade a subdued black appearance. The rugged black blade and polished silver edge create a striking contrast.
