The Salt® 2 offers all the salient features of the best-in-class Delica® 4 Lightweight model in a format that offers extreme corrosion resistance. These include enhanced ergonomics, a high-traction Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern on the handle, a high-strength back lock mechanism, and a black-coated titanium pocket clip that supports left or right-side, tip-up or tip-down carry. Unlike the Delica 4, which uses stainless steel liners in the handle, the Salt 2’s ultra-lightweight linerless handle is molded from two pieces of fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) and fitted with four sets of threaded stainless steel inserts to mount its four-position clip. All other metal hardware on the Salt 2 is also machined from special marine-grade alloys and black coated for extreme corrosion resistance. This expression of the Salt 2 showcases a full-flat-ground blade crafted from LC200N martensitic blade steel. This nitrogen-enriched alloy offers both exceptional resistance to corrosion and excellent edge-holding properties. Available in both PlainEdge™ and fully serrated SpyderEdge™ formats, this remarkable design features a high-visibility green handle color that is a signature of Spyderco’s LC200N family. Notes Unlike the regular Delica, this one is linerless, meaning the handle is entirely made of FRN with no internal steel liners. This helps with corrosion resistance (no steel to corrode) and lightness with only a slight decrease in rigidity. In my opinion, it is overall superior to the Delica.
