This striking reproduction Chinese vase has a wonderfully rich green glaze with subtle blue, grey and earthy tones. The reactive copper glaze creates a beautifully varied surface, with areas of mottling and flowing colour that give the vase depth and character. The glaze naturally gathers and runs across the rounded body, producing an organic finish that makes each piece unique. The vase is hand-thrown on a potter's wheel by skilled artisans using traditional techniques learnt within their families and passed down through generations. Its generous rounded form and softly textured glaze make it an impressive decorative piece, equally attractive displayed on its own or filled with branches or flowers. Made in Jingdezhen, China's celebrated centre of porcelain production since 1004 AD. The city became particularly renowned following the establishment of the imperial kilns during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), and remains internationally recognised for its ceramic craftsmanship today.
