A Welsh medium bittersweet cider apple. Round fruit with a green skin and red flush on the sunny side. Russet in deep stem basin, sometimes onto cheeks. Some aroma. Best used in a blend. Harvest early October. Can be stored into the new year. An old Brecon cider apple variety with graftwood originally collected by Dave Matthews of the Welsh Perry & Cider Society from a farm on the Herefordshire border. Not long after harvesting the scion wood the original tree died, but luckily Paul Matthews from Applewise had propagated the tree thus saving the variety. Show more
