The luscious, indolic, civet-like richness of coffee accompanies the elegant rose note like a devil on an angel’s shoulder, adding darkness and danger, amplified by notes of woods and patchouli. Saffron — a classic, comforting, Middle Eastern pairing with rose — makes Café Noir even more velvety and sumptuous. Although a glimmer of proper rose’s facets peek through in the dry down — a little soap here, a little lipstick there — mostly, this disheveled flower is fixing her (or his) mussed up hair after a little romp. Café Rose Notes Saffron, black pepper and may rose; middle notes are turkish rose, bulgarian rose and coffee; base notes are incense, amber, sandalwood and patchouli.
