Black licorice, which is not where most perfumes begin, and it sets the tone for everything after. Black licorice leads, anise-dark and chewy, with fougassette adding a warm bakery softness under pink pepper and cardamom. The heart turns floral and sun-warmed: gardenia, Madagascar ylang-ylang and Egyptian jasmine stacked thick. Cacao, musk and Ambrocenide finish it, dry cocoa over a base that projects hard and lasts. Cold nights out. Best on someone who likes being asked about it and has an answer ready. Announces itself for the first two hours, then lingers close for 8-10 hours. Hand-poured in small batches in Richardson, TX as an Extrait de Parfum with 30% fragrance oils versus the 15-20% typical of an Eau de Parfum, so a little goes a long way.
