California Wonder is the American standard for heirloom bell pepper varieties. First introduced in 1928, the sturdy, upright plants produce good yields of large, blocky bell peppers measuring 3 to 4 inches across. California Wonder's thick-walled fruit can be harvested green or left to ripen to a vibrant red color. Their large size and firm texture make them ideal for stuffing, but they're also well-suited for salads, fajitas or any other recipe that calls for bell peppers. We've grown other varieties that were sweeter, but there's a reason California Wonder has held its prominence for so long; It's a stout, dependable bell pepper with a flavor many of us have come to know and love. Matures approximately 75 days after transplant. Each packet contains a minimum of 25 seeds.
