Callistemon ‘Slim™’ is a narrow-growing bottlebrush designed specifically for tight planting spaces, making it an ideal solution where width is limited but height and screening are needed. With its upright, compact form, it delivers strong vertical structure without taking over valuable garden space. In spring, summer and again in autumn, Slim™ produces masses of classic red bottlebrush flowers along its stems, attracting birds, bees and pollinators while adding vibrant seasonal colour. Exceptionally hardy for a callistemon, this variety has been tested to tolerate temperatures as low as -6°C without leaf burn, making it a reliable option for cooler climates as well as warmer regions. Mature size: approximately 3 metres high × 1.3 metres wide Care & Growing Tips Plant in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil. Slim™ is highly adaptable and will tolerate a wide range of soil types. Water regularly for the first 8–13 weeks to establish, then reduce, as it becomes drought tolerant once mature. Mulch well to retain moisture and support root health. Apply a slow-release fertiliser in spring if required to encourage healthy growth. Prune after flowering to maintain shape—this can be done 1–3 times per year depending on whether a natural form or a tighter hedge is desired. Ideal for – Narrow hedging and screening – Tight garden beds and boundary planting – Feature planting in small spaces – Urban and courtyard gardens – Wildlife-friendly landscapes
