The shape, the material and the features of the CalmBlue tongue relief mouthpiece are all centered around creating acceptance, calmness and enhanced communication while minimising any unnecessary pressure. The Calmblue mouthpiece shape encourages free movement of the tongue and redistributes pressure away from the center of the tongue that many bits with classic link designs create. The cannons of the bit move independently to create a precision in communication between the rider and the horse. The CalmBlue mouthpiece is made of sweet iron which releases a sweet taste as it gets in contact with saliva that many horses prefer. The copper roller on the barrel allows the bit to glide up and down the tongue as reins are engaged more freely without creating additional pressure points. The baucher or sometimes called hanging cheekpiece creates the most stability of all our cheekpieces and pulls the bit up away from the bars. The hanging cheek stops the bit from being pulled through the horse’s mouth and is therefore a great alternative to full cheek or even eggbutt bits for younger horses. This cheekpiece is often used on sensitive young horses or those who prefer bits with bar relief or a negative poll pressure.
