These blankets are a special item in limited quantities. Tegan's son, Cal, created these as part of a school project. Hence the name, Cal's Blankets. The blankets were made using MorrisonRowe fabric and were produced in Calgary, Alberta. You can check out some of the backstory here. For his project, Cal wanted a blanket that he could have in the car, on the plane, or on the beach. He wanted something he could snuggle up with and something that would protect him from the sun. The result is a light weight yet cozy UPF 50+ sun protective blanket for anyone or anywhere. The blankets fold up small and are easy to have in your car, bag or for travel. We've been toting around large scraps of MorrisonRowe fabric for years to throw over sleeping kids, exposed limps or shoulders, and sometimes even as a scarf to keep warm. These are much nicer than those large scraps. Fabric: Heather Grey: 89% TENCEL™ Lyocell, 11% Mineral Blue: 53% Hemp, 44% Organic Cotton, 3% Spandex Sizing: The blankets are 76cm x 76cm or 30" by 30". Perfect for a bucket seat, car seat, stroller, beach, or patio. The blankets are super compact and can easily be tossed into a diaper bag, back pack, purse or beach bag. Care: Tencel - Machine wash cold, lay flat to dry. Hemp/Cotton - Machine wash cold, tumble dry low. Sun Protection: Each colour of our fabric is independently tested in accordance with AATCC 183 and ASTM D6544 to ensure UPF 50+ protection.
