Camellia (Tsubaki) Oil is used on fine tools and knives to protect against rust and preserve cutting edges. This high-quality camellia oil is produced by Kurobara Honpo in Tokyo utilising over 80 years of experience and technology. Japanese craftsmen have used camellia oil for generations as an effective rust inhibitor. It can also be used as a liquid lubricant when sharpening and to maintain a smooth action. Using camellia oil on high carbon steel will protect and maintain the longevity of your tools. Camellia oil is a natural oil made from the seeds of an evergreen plant in the camellia genus. The seeds are cultivated in Japan and pressed to produce the camellia oil. The oil is very light and unlike other natural oils is unlikely to dry and gum up, as well as being odourless, fully biodegradable and non-toxic. Imported from Japan, this camellia oil is bottled in 100ml and 245ml containers. An economical long-lasting product for your tool kit, as only a few drops are needed per use (100ml). The spray bottle makes for even easier application (245ml). Directions: Clean and dry tool blade(s) before applying camellia oil (for tools exposed to heavy sap or resin try Yanipika Tool Cleaner) Add some oil to a clean cloth or apply a few dots/spray to blade(s) Simply wipe the blade(s) on both sides with the cloth before storage Please Note - This Camellia oil is maintenance/tool grade and unsuitable for cosmetic purposes or cooking.
