Camlock fittings, also referred to as cam and groove couplings, are quick-connect hose couplers designed for fast and efficient attachment and detachment of hoses or pipes across a wide range of fluid transfer tasks. Each fitting consists of two key parts: a male adapter and a female coupler. The male adapter features a grooved ring around its body, while the female coupler includes cam arms. By pulling the cam arms back, the male adapter can be inserted into the coupler. Releasing the arms secures the connection, ensuring a reliable and tight fit. These fittings are widely used in sectors such as agriculture, fuel handling, chemical processing, and food production, where frequent coupling and uncoupling are essential for operational efficiency and safety. Camlock fittings are available in various materials including aluminium, stainless steel, brass, and polypropylene. The products described here are made from polypropylene (PP), so please confirm that this material meets the requirements of your intended application. Key advantages of using camlock fittings include: Fast and Convenient Coupling: Enables swift connection and disconnection, helping to reduce downtime and simplify workflows in systems requiring frequent access. Reliable Sealing: Once locked, the connection forms a secure seal that minimises leaks and enhances fluid safety and cleanliness. Cross-Compatibility: Camlock fittings are built to standard sizes and specifications, allowing for seamless integration with a variety of systems and components. This particular fitting is a 3" Type DP camlock. Type DP camlocks feature a male camlock plug end. Commonly known as dust plugs, these fittings are used to seal and protect the ends of camlock couplers when not in use, preventing dirt, moisture, or damage from entering the system.
