Niho Kozuru casts sculptural candles from antique finials and architectural ornaments. She was drawn to this work as an artist, combining her love of New England forms with her Japanese heritage. In her hands, organic materials are loved and respected, and her work is rooted in her artist ancestors and family of ceramists in Fukuoka, Japan. Now, in a studio in Boston’s South End, she hand-pours NIHO Candles, in 100% beeswax for the richness of their light and depth of beauty. NIHO Candles contain a 100% pure, custom blend of locally sourced American beeswax and cotton wicks. Color variations are seasonal, determined by the types of pollen bees have gathered from flowers. Beeswax candles have an exceptionally bright golden flame with a natural honey scent. When beeswax burns, it acts as a natural air purifier and burns longer than any other wax.
