Candle will be placed before Golgotha (for the departed). The place of Christ’s Crucifixion (Matthew 27: 33). Through the Cross, Christ descended into Hades and defeated death, ros e from the dead and gives life to all those who believe in Him (John 3:16). Because Christ defeated death, we all run to Him, asking that He grant eternal life to all our departed loved ones. We place our candles at Golgotha for the repose of the souls of the departed. And we ask Christ to quench our passions by His Passion and to deliver us from sin by His Sufferings on the Cross. Show more
