Canework by Charles Crampton The Dryad Press, 1964, black and white photographs and illustrations, hardcover, dustjacket Very Good Condition, a little edge and shelf wear, a little rubbing and bumping to edges and corners, tape residue on end papers, previous owners inscription on front end paper, price-clipped dustjacket shows a little edge and shelf wear (see photographs) “The issue of the nineteenth edition is an indication of the value of this book. It is written by a man who has the double advantage of having been in the trade, or ‘on the plank’, as basketmakers call it, and having experience in teaching – the happiest combination for writing a book on craft. The book covers the making of most articles in everyday use for which cane is a suitable medium and gives clear diagrams and detailed instructions which are easy to follow. A scheme for a four-year course is included, which can be applied in schools and which suggests work within the capabilities of both junior and senior scholars.”
