If you use reverse osmosis (RO) water or live in a soft water area, this product is excellent for "hardening" your water to aid the growth of robust, healthy plants. How Canna Calmag Agent Works All Canna nutrients and other products work with 'normal' water with a Magnesium+Calcium background EC of between 0.4 and 0.7. Regular water contains magnesium, calcium (and bicarbonate) which stabilises the pH in the water and provides magnesium and calcium to your plants. Reverse osmosis (RO) water (with an EC of below 0.4) and soft water do not contain enough of these vital secondary nutrients. Both magnesium and calcium have a lot of essential roles in the metabolism, health and development of plants at all stages. If you have water with an EC above 0.8, then Canna recommends using a reverse osmosis (RO) unit to clean it and get the EC down to virtually zero.
