For the latest watercolour tutorial, I have chosen this scene of Cannon Beach in Oregon, which was suggested by one of our members through the Members Forum. This was good timing a s I noticed it when I was looking for a grade 1 subject on the run-up to a week’s filming, and it seemed to fit the bill. Even though it is probably one of our less detailed subjects, it still gives us plenty of opportunity for some big, wet into wet washes, complemented by some dry-brushwork. There are also some important lessons in painting reflections, along with a bit of practice at including figures in the landscape. As I’ve just watched it through again to do the chaptering, I can see that I was really enjoying the process, so I hope that’s the same for you. Happy Painting,Geoff. Show more
