The fabric used is a mix of 100% linen and a cotton/linen blend that has all been dyed by hand using plant-based dyes including cutch, quebracho, walnut and iron. The quilt is thro w sized (approx 58" x 58") and makes a great accent piece or wall hanging. It has a medium weight cotton batting. The front and back of the quilt were machine pieced, meaning the patchwork is machine sewn. The quilting, meaning the stitches running throughout, were entirely done by hand with cotton sashiko thread. Hand quilting is a very laborious and time consuming process but the impact of the hand stitches cannot be mimicked with a machine. Show more
