Cappelletti Aperitivo, also known as Aperitivo Cappelletti or Specialino, is one of Italy's oldest aperitivi, produced by the Cappelletti family in Trentino since the early 1900s. Unlike many modern red aperitifs that rely on neutral spirit and artificial coloring, Cappelletti begins with a wine base and is naturally colored with carmine, giving it a softer texture and a more traditional style. The palate balances bright bitter orange with notes of rhubarb, baking spice, herbal botanicals, and gentle berry fruit. Its bitterness is refined rather than aggressive, complemented by a subtle wine richness and a dry, refreshing finish. Bottled at 17% ABV, Cappelletti Aperitivo is a versatile choice for classic cocktails such as the Spritz, Negroni, and Americano, while its wine-based character also makes it an excellent aperitif served simply with sparkling wine or soda.
