From the artist: “Captured Silence” reflects the reality of incarceration in El Salvador, focusing on what remains after violence is confronted and justice is carried out—the human stillness that follows and its impact on the community. The piece also speaks to my academic background in criminal justice and a long-standing curiosity around accountability, consequence, and human potential—questions that drew me to El Salvador. The sculpture displays prisoners in two rows of five, symbolizing structure, leadership, and the passage of time within systems of order. The carefully balanced tall rock represents the constant tension between maintaining order and upholding justice. The defined line at the base of the wood symbolizes a boundary—where decisions are made and where their weight is ultimately felt. Mango and almond seeds are used as symbols of contrast. Their tough outer shells represent visible confinement, while what lies inside reflects the complexity within each individual life. “Captured Silence” invites reflection on what remains when order is restored—the silence, the weight, and the human stories that exist within it and around it. 🌀 Proposed Acquisition: 1 Bitcoin Not as a measure of monetary value, but as a reflection of El Salvador’s unique place in history and the cultural significance of Bitcoin within the country’s story. -Iggy
