Its internal backup battery allows limited continued operation following a power interruption. Under typical tracker use, this may provide enough data for approximately one year. Actual usage, credit expiry and service conditions depend on the mobile provider and tracker settings. The tracker is hardwired to the vehicle’s power supply and uses GPS positioning together with a compatible mobile service to send location information to the LKGPS app or web platform. After purchase, we configure the tracker and create your tracking account. Simple instructions are sent by email to make setup as straightforward as possible. What happens if vehicle power is disconnected? The tracker can send a power-cut alert and switch to its internal 200mAh backup battery. The backup battery is intended for alerts and limited short-term reporting rather than extended standalone tracking. Actual backup operating time depends on tracker settings, reporting frequency, mobile and GPS signal strength, battery condition and temperature. Can the tracker remotely disable a vehicle? The LK960 supports relay-based vehicle immobilisation. This feature requires professional installation and must only be activated lawfully and when the vehicle is safely stationary.
