Bricco San Giorgio “Caranti” NIZZA DOCG is a red wine from 100% Barbera grapes (Cru) The vinification takes place in steel tanks with 20-25 days maceration in contact with the skin s with frequent gentle damping of the cap daily. Ageing goes for 14 to 18 months in new tonneaux followed by 6-8 months in the bottle. The appearance takes-off with a bright ruby red color tending to garnet highlights. The bouquet is ample with generous juicy ripe red fruit aromas of raspberry and cherries, as well as spicy tones. The palate follows with a full structure, broad, persistent body keeping yet the red ripe fruit aromas found in the nose, mainly ripe Amarena cherries, plums and small red fruits. The ageing in new tonneaux provides spice elements of leather, tobacco and liquorice. Food match: Pairing very well fresh egg-pasta with mushrooms, roasted and braised beef and veal dishes, and well-matured cheeses such as Raschera, Castelmagno and spiced Toma d’Alpeggio. Show more
