Caravella Orangecello was recently launched in 2002 building upon the world-leading sales of the Sperone Family's limoncello. It is made with the same recipe: sugar, Italian oranges, and grain alcohol. They suggest mixing in champagne or other classic cocktails calling for orange liqueurs (like triple-sec).The Sperone family's limoncello recipe is known to Europeans and Americans alike as Caravella Limoncello, the number one-selling limoncello in the United States. Named after a restaurant in Amalfi, Caravella Limoncello's production is overseen by both Paolo Sperone and his brother Antonio, who ensure just the right combination of green (unripe) and yellow lemons are used to give Caravella its distinctive taste and aroma. In the 20s, Paolo's paternal grandfather, Giacomo, created a special recipe of herbs to enhance the flavor of the vermouth he bottled to sell at the family's small group of spirits stores in Turin.
