HISTORY: Patrick Sexton Carden a/k/a Patsy Cardiff a/k/a The Peoria Giant was born in 1863 in Gratton, Ontario, Canada. He fought as a heavyweight between 1884 and 1892. Cardiff had victories over Danny Kelliher, John Donalson and Jim Fell and fought draws with John L. Sullivan and Charlie Mitchell. Offered here is a very rare, original cabinet card of Patsy Cardiff in period dress as he looked at the height of his career. FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original Oswald Bros. of Minneapolis cabinet card dating to the late 1880's. Bold, clear image. Not creased or torn. Tack holes at top and lower borders.
