Featuring a ring of mountain-like peaks, this hat is named for the Caribou Mountains, a mountain range in northern Alberta. Surrounding a saucer shaped plateau, the mountains are l ocated north-east of High Level, and directly west of Wood Buffalo National Park. Caribou Mountains Wildland Park contains fragile wetland and permafrost ecosystems, and is an important refuge for threatened woodland caribou and wood bison.
